Noosa Council
Working to maintain and improve the quality of life for the Noosa community is the Noosa Council, the local government body responsible for looking after the Noosa Shire.
Noosa Council Amalgamation
Following the Queensland State Governement's review of all Queensland local governments, it was recommended that the Noosa Council be amalgamated with the Caloundra and Maroochy Councils. This report was presented on 27th of July 2007, a little over 3 months after the announcement of the review on the 17th of April.
The positive and negative effects of the upcoming amalgamation are being widely debated, and are of particular interest to the tourism industry in Noosa and the Sunshine Coast generally.
