Pomona
Pomona's Majestic TheatreSituated north of the town of Cooroy, Pomona sits at the foot of Mount Cooroora, the home of the annual King of the Mountain challenge. Each year men and women must race to the top and back in under 30 minutes to claim the title of king or queen of the mountain.
Pomona was the original home of the Noosa Shire Council when it was founded in 1910. The town’s heritage is well-preserved in the collection of memorabilia at the Noosa Shire Museum. Another of its attractions is the Majestic Theatre, one of the few silent movie theatres left in Australia.
