Kilkivan

Queensland is a beautiful and diversified place. Tourist towns cater almost entirely to visitors, but sometimes it's nice to visit places further afield, away from the tourist scene to get a true feel for an area. Gympie, Kilkivan and Kingaroy are Rich rural areas with histories of farming, logging and gold mining.

These towns set in lush green rolling hills are unique to this area. The towns are small, quaint and sleepy. Only recently waking up to the tourist market. While most of the locals are rural based they welcome vistors and are proud of their towns and heritage. Kilkivan Shire welcome you to visit this growing region and offer some great places of interest (definitely worth the drive).

Some places of interest are The Prophet Mine and Rossmore Park (Gold Panning areas), Boat Mountain Environmental Park, Brooyar Forest Drive, Elgin Vale Mill, Kilkivan Historical Museum, Kinboombi Falls and Mt Clara Chimneys.
