About Noosa Sound
The canal development of Noosa Sound tucked behind Noosa's Main Beach
Noosa Sound is a network of waterways on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, renowned as one of Australia’s most beautiful canal developments. Lined with designer homes and private jetties, Noosa Sound is surrounded by stunning beaches making it a popular holiday accommodation destination.
Located in the heart of Noosaville, Noosa Sound enjoys a quiet, coastal town atmosphere yet is home to the cosmopolitan precinct of Hastings Street. Featuring some of the Sunshine Coast’s best boutique shopping and restaurants, Hastings Street is one of Noosa’s big attractions. There is also Gympie Terrace not far away which is where you can pick up some of Noosa’s finest local produce. With so many cafes and restaurants within easy reach, Noosa Sound caters for every taste and ranges from fine dining experiences to relaxed alfresco dining.
Navigating the glittering rivers and canals of Noosa Sound is made easy by a number of walking paths that wind along the beautiful Noosa River foreshore and gorgeous Main Beach. The calm waters along Gympie Terrace also make a pleasant backdrop for a family picnic by the water or a refreshing dip. Noosa Main Beach, which is just metres from Hastings Street, is stunning stretch of pristine white sand and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
Surrounding Noosa is the hinterland and mountain ranges of Montville and Maleny with wineries, fresh produce, local handicrafts and the famous Eumundi markets just 40 minutes from Noosa Sound. Noosa is also home to a scenic National Park which provides spectacular scenery and is an important refuge for the native wildlife such as koalas, black cockatoos and ground parrots.
Aside from exploring the shopping, dining, nature and accommodation areas of Noosa Sound, the surrounding area and the Sunshine Coast region offers a range of activities and things to see including the world famous Australia Zoo, Fraser Island and its 4WD adventure tours, Noosa River cruises, surf havens Sunshine Beach, Sunrise Beach and Peregian Beach, deep sea fishing and a variety of water sports including surf lessons, kayaking and stand up paddle boards.
